The Joker

Hiram does the occult.

Hiram’s Journey to the East only took him as far as the Winter Gardens in Margate to see Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers but he never forgot his Catholic upbringing. So he looked to Buddhism and anything arcane to get a sense of perspective. While preferring Astronomy to Astrology, he did manage to find a song in the Tarot pack.

Here’s the score

I am The Joker, The Fool of the pack.
Welcome the pilgrim, there’s no looking back.

Seven cards I’ll show you, for Earth they are made,
Seven then for thought there are, the tools of your trade,
Seven for the Spirit will act as a guide.
When I turn the cards you cannot hide.

I’ll show you your life from cradle to grave,
your hopes and successes, the ones you will love.

Repeat chorus

The Fool (s)he knows, the cards (s)he shows, it’s (s)he who sows the seed.

Your losses and failures are there besides
The tale that the Tarot, alone, can decide.

Repeat chorus
